We started Pawstead in 2016 with a single shelf of treats and a rescue dog asleep behind the counter. Nine years later the shelves are bigger — the dog is still here.
Our story
One shelf, one dog, one idea
Pet care felt complicated — mystery ingredients, rushed grooms, advice that contradicted itself. So we built the shop we wished existed: honest food, gentle grooming, trainers who explain the why, and a rescue corner that has rehomed over 400 pets.
Today Pawstead is a neighborhood institution: part store, part salon, part classroom, part matchmaking service for homeless pets.
